Stratosphere Tower

Las Vegas has many attractions and destinations that tourists and residents can enjoy. When visiting the Strip, many tourists flock to see the Stratosphere Tower Las Vegas Nevada. This tower, casino and hotel has been deemed the tallest tower in the United States. At 1,149 feet, the Stratosphere Tower is even taller than the Eiffel Tower. In addition, tourists are interested in this magnificence structure is because of the thrill rides, lounge, observation decks, wedding chapel and revolving restaurant service the tower provides.

Before the Stratosphere Tower Las Vegas Nevada became a gigantic tourist attraction, it was only just a concept. In 1991, Las Vegas casino owner Bob Stupak announced his plans to build a landmark tower to replace his Vegas World casino. The tower was originally planned to be taller than the CN Tower in Ontario Canada. However, due to potential interference from McCarran International Airport and other planes flying through Las Vegas, the tower had to be scaled down to its current height, 1,149 feet. This was not the only issue that occurred during the Stratosphere Tower's four year construction. Two years into the construction, the structure caught fire. Although no one was hurt and there was little damage, repairs still had to be made. This caused several delays. Despite this, the Stratosphere Tower opened on April 30, 1996.

From the beginning, the thrill rides of Stratosphere Tower Las Vegas Nevada have always been a main staple. The original concept of the tower included a giant ape that would carry passengers up and down the tower. However, this idea was scrapped. Instead, the Stratosphere Tower opened with two other thrill rides. The first two attractions were the High Roller and the Big Shot. The High Roller was a rollercoaster while the Big Shot offers guests a rocket like experience. Sadly, the High Roller was terminated on December 30, 2005. In addition to these two rides, the X-Scream and Insanity were also added in 2003 and 2005.

Despite the dismantling of the High Roller, the Stratosphere Tower Las Vegas Nevada has not changed very much. On January 2010, it was announced that a new thrill attraction called the SkyJump would be added. It began operation on April 20, 2010. In addition, to the SkyJump, more rooms have been added to accommodate more tourists. Although there have been changes, the Stratosphere Tower is still a great place to visit when visiting Las Vegas.
