Paris Hotel Las Vegas - The History of the Hotel

One of the many hotels and casinos located on the Las Vegas Strip is the Paris Hotel Las Vegas. The hotel is owned by Caesar Entertainment Corporation. The hotel is actually in Paradise, Nevada. It's one of the many hotel and casino complexes that are based on a theme. This hotel's theme is based on Paris, France. A replica of the Eiffel Tower is on the premises, and is actually a half scale replica. The hotel also features a sign in the image of the Montgolfier balloon. Replicas of the La Fontaine des Mers and the Arc de Triumphe are also part of the complex. The Theatre des Arts seats 1,200 people, and the front of the building is similar in appearance to the Paris Opera House and the Louvre.

Built by the architectural firms MBH Architects, Leidenfrost/Horowitz & Assoc., and Bergman, Walls, & Assoc., the project to create the Paris Hotel Las Vegas, began in 1997 when ground was broken for the hotel complex. Hilton Hotels began work on the project which had recently bought out Bally Entertainment. The tower was originally to be a full scale replica of the tower in Paris, but it was too close to the airport and had to be scaled down. When the hotel opened in 1999, a spectacular fireworks display was shot off from the tower. The complex is spread out over 24 acres and was built at a cost of $785 million. One of the greatest things about the Paris Hotel is that it's also close to volcanoes that erupt, replicas of the Egyptian Pyramids, castles, a replica of New York City, and spectacular shows with fountains synchronized to music.

The Paris Hotel Las Vegas featured a star-studded opening. A special black-tie gala was held for 4,000 special guests to tour the hotel, including the authentic cobblestone streets, boutiques, and gourmet restaurants. The hotel is owned by Park Place entertainment. This is one of the companies owned by Hilton Hotels. The hotel is built on 34 floors and has 2,916 rooms and suites for guests. When the company owners were discussing ideas for a themed complex, someone suggested Paris and the idea became a reality five years later.

The perfect vacation destination for the visitor who wants to experience a taste of Paris without actually visiting France, is the Paris Hotel Las Vegas. The decor was designed to look just like a French market. Paint chips from the Eiffel Tower in Paris were brought back to Las Vegas to exactly recreate the color. The hotel is designed to look like the Hotel de Ville in Paris, which is 800 years old.
